Yeah.. it was a fruitful trip.. :) We only had slightly less than 20 kids around on sunday.. It's their school hols cos' of ramadan and most of them prob went away to visit their relatives or something.. but God is good, we still had two kids who accepted Jesus at the sunday school class !! Pray that they will continue to grow strong in understanding the word and also not be fearful of anything.. Such precious little lives... :)
Also thank God that the adult congregation has been growing since the church moved over to Tg Batu.. :)

Hiak.. I finally bought a new mp3 player.. :) Ipod 20GB colour.. Yeah !! and it's called Rosypod.. Yah.. it's a 'gal' pod.. :P all started with est calling her pod Spidy.. Hee...
After much thinking, I think Apple's a better deal than H10.. even though the whole package comes up to $150 more.. (ouch).. There're also more available options to increase its functions.. I hope she won't fail within a year.. :P Been spending the past 2 nites arranging my mp3s in itunes.. not very familiar with how it works cos' I just used drag and drop previously.. :P

Yeah.. will be taking a short break to Bangkok in mid nov.. i think quite confirmed lah.. :D Heard lots about the shopping there.. Hee.. ok, I won't shop for anything here from now till then.. :)

Looking forward to sawang this weekend.. :)

Happy Birthday to me !! :) Am feeling so blessed by wonderful frens and cols.. Hee... This is one of the best birthdays I have had.. Been getting birthday greetings since Fri.. :P Started with lunch and pressie at work on friday..then pressie and cake during the cell durian feast.. :P Also met Jud and Rene for coffee and shopping at orchard on sat.. It felt so nice to meet up again after almost 3 months and just click as before.. (we used to do this abt twice a month..) :P On my way home, I was reminded about fri's cell on relationships and about maintaining true friendships.. how we shld be mindful of them and not take them for granted.. :)

Anyways, I wasn't really expecting anything today.. but after service I got flowers and this very nice and special poster size card designed by Soks.. Hee... :) Alan and Patrick sent it for printing yest.. Wah.. so touched.. Sob.. Thank you much much.. !!
Took a pic of the pressies for keeping pleasure... Hee.. Promised Rol and Chel that I'll wear the white top that they gave next week.. :D

Oh.. forgot to include the 'gift' from the TP on fri nite, after the durian feast - a parking offence... for nation building lor.. :/

The cell mid autumn event at church last nite was good.. :) Good turn-out and could see that everyone had fun.. Thank God for each and everyone who were so willing to help in cooking, mc-ing, planning the games, sharing, purchasing the cutlery, lanterns, sparklers... and designing this cool gift card !! :D Hee.. Certainly hope that the seeds sowed last nite will continue to grow... :)

Realised from the event planning that I am sometimes quite a 'C' person... :P Hee... Oh well...:)

The new talk of the town.. Ipodnano.. Super slim, super light... super cool but still no voice recording.. Dun think I will consider it.. aesthetics vs functionality.. Hmm..

Am enjoying my lazy sunday afternoon at home now.. :P It's been a long time since I last did this and best part is the weather is nice and cool.. had been raining earlier in the day.. :) So feel like taking a nap as well.. :P Hee...

Wasn't feeling too well the past 2 weeks.. prob due to the prolong cough. Been feeling perpetually tired.. not sleepy tired, just physically tired in that I have to drag my legs just to walk from the mrt station to the bus stop.. :S It's such a horrible feeling, to have no energy to do normal daily stuff.. :( But thank God, it's much better now.. :) Hee.. Almost back to normal.. 90%.. :D

Made the much procrastinated trip down to Creative yesterday.. To repair the mp3 player. It was at Jurong East.. Est and me had to walk an extremely long way from the mrt station just to get there. :S Upon reaching, we got a queue number with 20 pple before us.. :( Saturday afternoon lah.. no choice I guess.. Anyway, just to take note, most pple were bringing their Zen Micro for repair lah.. :P Hee.. Finally, when my turn reached, the cust svc officer managed to identify the problem quite easily.. She informed me that the warranty was already over.. I kinda knew that before going, missed by a month I think.. Anyway, was prepared to pay a little lah.. So I asked her the cost of repair.. She tapped the calculator and told me max is $192... Must be nuts to pay $192 for repairs !!! :S She quite kindly told me it's prob more worth to buy a new one.. I fully agree !! Then she added - got creative fair coming up... I looked at her and the first thot that ran through my mind was - You think I will ever buy Creative again ?? Yah.. so there.. Time to search for a new mp3 player.. The one below looks quite good.. :) Iriver H10.. Ipod's good and all, but the voice recording feature requires an additional accessory leh.. :(

Heehee.. haven't been blogging for ages.. sorries.. :P Hmm.. last post - new hair-do.. maybe spending too much time trying to keep hair in place.. (not!) :P But it's something new.. got a number of positive comments that it looks better than straight hair.. :P Only downside for me - it makes quite a big difference whether it's styled and twirled properly or just left to dry, the latter results in frizzy looking hair.. :S So need to wake up earlier every morning now.. !! Also, permed hair is not very 'sawang friendly'... the weather feels extra hot in it.. :S

Guess been rather busy last week.. preparing for last weekend's sawang trip, doing CWMC homework, catching up on some readings, on MC and also preparing for Techshowcase at work.. Manned the techshowcase booth demo the past 2 days.. quite tiring to be standing most of the time.. well, at least I was excused from presenting, thanks to my stubborn(x2) cough which got worse after the weekend.. :S It's quite bad cos' it gets worse at night and when I just enter an air-con area.. The coughing fit can last a few mins and ends with tears in the eyes.. :'( Hope it goes away soon !!

We painted the church at Tg Batu last weekend.. :D Nice, exciting, bright colours.. I'm sure the kids will be very happy to see it.. :) So cheery and it'll def look even nicer when everything is done up properly.. :) Feels good to see that everyone is working hard to put this together.. be it availing to physically go over and help paint or working hard on the fund-raising here.. :D Yeah.. !! God is good.. :)

Hee.. Finally went to perm my hair yesterday.. :) Sat there for 4 hours while the poor hair was being 'tortured'.. It's quite nice, a totally different look and thankfully, not auntie.. First felt like a poodle, then felt like a doll.. but now ok.. :P The worst part is not being able to comb my hair after the curls are in place... else will be very frizzy.. (either way, I feel so untidy) :P

Met up with Jud and Rene today.. such a long time since we last went shopping.. :P It's a good time to get stuff, with all the national day celebration sales.. :) But it didn't feel quite the same.. tiring.. I think one afternoon is worst than a weekend in sawang... Legs aching now..

Last weekend's sawang trip was good.. :) Indeed, every single trip is different !! We can plan everything to our best but ultimately God leads and after the trip, you cannot help but be in awe at the way things turn out.. :) Just gotta be prepared and expect the unexpected.. !! God just took care of every single and smallest detail.. the rain, the weather, the visitations, the lesson and most of all the worship session !! Learnt a lot about worship from the past 2 trips.. about how powerful praise and worship makes a difference.. about how we are in a spiritual battle but we just have to worship and enthrone God with all our hearts and He will fight the battle for us cos' the victory is already His.. :) 2 Chronicles 20:15-29.. Very exciting.. am starting to read a book on worship as well.. :P And also I was hoping to see the kids that won't present on my last trip and they came.. :D

Been a week since I last posted something.. :P Well, I did try but the connection got cut off and the post went with it.. too lazy to redo.. :P
Met up with Laura (JC classmate) on Mon nite.. Had a good time catching up with her since we only meet once in a long long time.. Chatted a bit on what we are doing and have been doing.. Got a chance to share with her about the sawang trips.. which got her interested and started asking some questions.. :D We went on to talk abt JC times.. It's quite funny how she used to be the teacher's nightmare but is now an excellent teacher herself.. :D and goodness, that was 10 years ago.. ! :( I guess it's about there.. I got an email at work today.. notifying that I will be getting a long service award in 2 weeks time.. yikes..!! yes.. 5 years.. Doesn't feel like 5 years, but thinking back and counting the number of different projects, I think have lah.. :P

Yeah, it's friday.. :) So glad that work this week is better than the past two weeks.. God is good :) Somehow things are looking brighter and am happier.. even got news for a possible overseas trip in sept.. :P Was initially quite upset about not getting a grade I expected despite the fact that our project was rated excellent.. :( Was in super low morale at work for more than a week.. Felt like I worked the entire period in vain.. But through this, God has been showing me that He will be my strength.. and yupz, I'll just do whatever I can to my best and leave the rest to Him.. :) It's such a privilege to be part of God's endless blessings.. :D

Was quite set on going to perm my hair today.. not maggi mee curly, just wavy.. It's just something you want to do but dun have the guts to, but if you dun do, you will never know how it will turn out and you want to know how it will turn out.. Hahaha... It's one of those things... But anyway, I didn't get down to it today. Will definitely do it another day lah.. :D

Met up to discuss some plans for the upcoming sawang trip and also attend the bahasa language class for the first time.. Not that bad, except for the fact that I didn't understand anything.. :P Not bad cos' it wasn't overwhelming.. only learnt single words today.. Doesn't look too foreign cos' at least it's still in alphabets. :P Just need effort to put the words to memory.. Hmm... easier said..?? :D

So many things to thank God for this weekend.. :) Firstly, that He brought us all safely back today.. The ferry ride home from Sawang was terribly choppy.. Think there was a storm at sea. Intially it just felt a bit worse than normal and it woke us up from our sleep. I was still joking that it was going to be a 2hr theme park ride.. almost immediately after I said that, there was this strong urge to start praying instead.. oopps.. :P Then 5 mins later, things got really bad. The lights went off, the 2 kids onboard started crying fearfully and I could myself 'flying' up the seat when the ferry hit a huge wave... there was fear cos' you don't really know what to expect next.. but as we prayed in spirit, could feel the peace of God within.. :) that He is in control of all things.. and that He will calm the sea and will watch over us... :) So glad that things didn't get any worse..

Also very thankful for the sawang trip this weekend.. Time just seems to be multiplied there and you feel like you can do a lot of things over 2 days.. :) The games session on sat afternoon was good, the kids enjoyed themselves much.. :) The children's CE and worship on sunday were good too.. Yeah !! So glad that the prayers and hard work were all paid off.. :D God will empower us as we step out in faith and say we want to avail ourselves for His works.. :)

Try to post some photos later... Very sleepy now.. and I still feel as if I'm drifting in the sea.. :D

It was a good weekend.. We did lots of sawang stuff and it was very fruitful.. :) Thank God !! Learnt some bahasa songs, discussed fund raising ideas, games and lessons for next week and practised worship too.. ! :D Initially thot we won't have time to prac worship but am really glad we managed to.. at least now I feel more confident.. phew..Thanks for staying on... :D
Yupz, must pray lots more next week as each and every one prepares themselves for the trip, gotta be focused and not let distractions like fear and inadequacy bother us too much.. and also have more conversations in chinese... :P

Been some time since I last blogged.. catching up on sleep... Didn't get the usual extra sleep last weekend.. :P But time really flies when you are busy with stuff.. it's already thurs tomo and another weekend is coming... The coming weekends will be very 'sawang'.. either with preps for the trips or on the trips itself.. :D It will be exciting/interesting to see what God does through this whole process as we take up the challenges.. to refocus, to enlarge and to fast and pray... :)

Managed to get only one nice photo from HC's wedding last sat and not all the jie-meis are in it.. the rest of the pics weren't very nice and din managed to take many cos' everytime we prepare to stand in a pose, the photographer comes running along and uses his camera for the shot... :S I just hope we get to see the photos... :P

Sigh.. Feel like kicking myself hard for being too picky.. Yesterday I found the almost perfect white dress for the jie-mei duties this sat but it had a little brown-green spot on it which I was afraid might not come off... So decided to try the other outlets after work and before guitar class today... BUT they didn't have the size anymore.. :'( Quite upset... :( The dresses I tried to borrow also didn't fit well.. Only one day more and it's almost impossible to squeeze time out to look for another dress tomo.. Backup plan - describe the dress to my sis later and ask/beg her to get it for me.. Yes, I'm going to settle for the one with the little, now tiny spot.. After all the running-about, I promise not to be picky/fussy anymore... :S So silly.. really hoping hard tat it's still there..!!

Other than the silly dress, the rest of the day went on quite well.. Had our last guitar lesson just now.. Next module starts in two weeks time.. :) Also paid up for the keyboard lessons that I have been considering to take.. Really really feel like taking but was wondering if it's too much of a challenge to try and do two things at one go.. Anyway, now that it's paid for, no more wavering liao.. :D It'll be fun.. :)

Weekends always pass by quickly.. But at least these days, it's already slightly longer with the 5-day work week.. :D Excellent move.. :)

Met the gals for sat lunch - briefing for HC's wedding next sat.. jie-mei duties.. Think the last time we all met up, it's was for another wedding.. I guess this will just repeat itself a few more times... :P It will be fun.. except the waking-up early part and the thot of dressing up for dinner after a whole day out.. :S Hee.. excuse to look for a new dress and go on a one-week diet..

Today, Alan and Victor got water-baptised.. :) Congrats !! :) The beach looked extra crowded today and as the other people around watched on, it felt good.. It was really like Alan and Victor publicly declaring that they want to make that stand to follow Jesus.. :) Got more baptism photos at EM2photos..

Yupz, it's friday and cell's on tonight.. It feels like a long time since I last saw those who weren't at camp and KL.. :P It will be good to share the excitment with those who weren't at camp.. that they too be stirred up.. and for me personally that this flame will not die out but continue to burn ever so strongly for God.. :) I was reminded again last night tat it's really about stepping out in faith and I will learn k... :D
Visited the doc's again this morning.. Had to wait for a whole hour even though I was the first one.. The clinic's opening hours is at 830am but doc comes in at 930am.. Sigh.. So much so for making patients feel better.. I ended up half reading and half people-watching.. Watched each of the clinic assts walk in, settle down and have their breakfast... 3 in total.. There weren't many patients, only 3 also.. maybe that's why the doc figures that it doesn't matter if he starts late.. :S
As for my colleague at work, she gave birth to a healthy gal on early thurs morning.. So fast.. I was telling her on wed that I hope to see her the next day.. and then hours later, the baby arrived !! Ok, must get all well by next week... it irks to not feel well and have a person less at work to help out !!

Going back to work wasn't too bad.. It's a relatively easy period at the mmt cos' we are in the midst of waiting for some projects to start so there's quite ample time to complete whatever there is at hand.. Good and bad I guess.. or rather 'enjoy while you can'.. My colleague is due for ML any time, quite excited for her and how her baby will look like :) but I foresee her absence will just coincide with the start of the projects.. :S Will definitely have to help cover her stuff.. No doubt abt that.. but it's not the first time anyway...
Was practising guitar yesterday and decided to make a compilation of the chords learnt and used in the songs that I tried to play so far... Think in this way, it will be forgotten less easily... :P Linked the file on the right hand side of this page... CD, EFG and AB.. :) Hopefully, it gets updated regularly.. :P A new sheet can also be created at ChordGuide.. Kinda miss the guitar playing sessions at camp.. it got quite 'addictive'.. and practising in a group is really more effective and it encourages one another too... :D Heehee..

Just got back this afternoon... it was a good week :) Can't say that it didn't feel like a week cos' looking back, there was much learnt, seen and done.. :D
Enjoyed the camp much, one of the best ever... I guess it's really important to go with an expectant heart, hoping to hear from God and wanting to grow closer to Him.. :)
The sermons were power-packed.. many topics covered.. Faith, allowing God to enlarge us, the anointing, the harvest, the blood of Jesus and the glory of God.. Some things serve as clear reminders, things that are already known but if no action taken, there will just remain as head knowledge and probably die off soon...

Three things that spoke to me most from the sermons..
- the anointing : that when God calls us, He will definitely empower us with the ability and the strength to face it..
- the harvest : the harvest is HERE, pray that God will send us into the harvest rather than for the harvest.. to tell Him, here I am, send me..
- the glory of God : for the glory of God upon us will impact those around us greatly, that we will arise and shine for Him in wherever we are and whatever we do..
The word spoken was also timely - the outpouring of new life.. and that as we raise up in faith, God will equip and empower us.. Just fits into what I have felt strongly the past months - the areas in my life which I need to put God first and the area of ministry as well.. Quite amazing how God speaks... :)
Also must thank God for what God is doing in my aunt (dad's youngest bro's wife).. She came from Shenzhen on holiday, got saved a week before camp. decided to join camp and was baptised during camp.. :) Never really spoke to her much cos' they reside in Shenzhen.. but after chatting with her during camp, I am amazed by her openness and desire to want to know God more... Btw, she only 2 years older than me.. so I never really call her auntie, quite strange lah... :P

Yup yup, other than the fact that I'm still feeling quite sick (flu) and on MC tomo, I feel in my heart that this is just the start of something exciting... Like what Rev Ian Peters said, it's just a glimpse of what God is beginning to do.. :)

Btw, camp part II in KL was also good.. lots of eating.. some shopping.. more guitar playing sessions.. :D Best part, food and stuff are cheap after conversion... downside, very crowded cos' it's the weekend.. Thank God I didn't feel that sick yesterday... still managed to eat and shop abit... :PP !!

The week-long leave is finally here.. :) Thank God that my boss was in a surprisingly good mood the whole of yesterday.. prob carried from his 2-day rest the day before.. :P He even asked me to enjoy myself next week and whether I was excited abt goin on a 'holiday' again !! Hmm... :P
Met my cousin at orchard today.. She will be returning back to Aust this Tues for good.. decided to accompany her for lunch and last-min shopping... but it was super crowded in town ! Almost everything's on sale cos' of GSS but really, the crowds put one off.. :( Oh well, save $$ after recent HK damage and coming KL one.. :P
Bought only one thing today - a bilingual bible.. fully justified :) hopefully to be able to use the right terms when speaking in chinese next time... :)

Nice pic of church camp site.. :) Was checking whether the rooms have hair-dryers.. Ok, sounds abit silly.. Wasn't attempting to bring one lah.. just wanted to know.. :D Anyway, have lor.. :P

Just learnt that one of my uncles (mum's bro) might be joining the camp on the last 2 days.. very last min decision but encouraging.. He just got saved on my Dad's last fishing trip - a few weeks ago.. :) Amazing how God works, they been talking to him for some time and then it just happened there.. :)

Found another way of posting photos on the blog - Fotoflix.. Think the pics will appear as a slide show in one frame, just link when done.. Looks quite neat and post won't be too lengthy.. :P But I guess it'll take quite long to load if there are too many pics.. Will try using it next time when there are more pics to post.. :)

Yup, 6 more days to church camp... Was trying to recall the last time I went.. but have only a very vague impression.. very long time ago, maybe '97/98 and think it was at genting.. Anyway, am glad to be able to make it this year.. :) Yesterday morn at work, my boss said he forgot that I took leave next week, then said he planned this this that.. then had that bo-pian look on his face.. *sigh + strange*.. he always say things like that when I go on leave.. dunno knowingly or unknowingly.. Oh well, just take it as a passing comment.. anyway, this work is really not urgent one.. :P Am looking forward to next week, it'll be fun with quite a few from cell going.. But I noe more importantly, it's to go prepared and expect God to do something lah.. it's really been a long time lor..

3 days and Finally !!

Spent the last 3 days trying to figure how to post everything nicely with pictures and all.. Was beginning to think that I'm blog-illiterate.. :P So many weird things happened.. the blogger.com site appears in traditional chinese on my PC (nothing wrong with preferences and all..), the hello! photo site keeps denying me of login access, my post keeps disappearing cos' I can't save it properly.. etc.. But never give up too early, if so many other pple can do it, it mustn't be that difficult.. must perserve even in little things like this.. :P So finally, after 3 days of sitting on it, half a night's help from Patrick and some formatting blues, the site looks decent enough for public viewing.. :D The basics is really quite simple once you understand how it works.. How to add pictures and stuff.. Me still figuring out though and it's quite fulfilling when you discover something new.. :)
Next is how to create links from my blog... doesn't sound too difficult eh..:P

Finally got down to setting up this blog after much procrastination.. heehee.. :) Yupz, and can make it just in time to share my HK trip :) Thank God for a good trip.. Quite interesting and exciting as well.. according to my travel kakis, covered much for 3.5 days.. :D They complain that I wake them up too early in the morning... :P

Let's see... Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, Victoria Peak, Stanley Bay and of cos Mongkok.. :) Shopping at the street markets are the best.. Much cheaper than the super upmarket shopping centres and can bargain !! Not that it will make a lot of diff cos of the currency... but yah, it's all part of the fun lor.. :D Took a bus to Stanley Bay on Day 2, enjoyable ride though relatively long... passed Repulse Bay along the way and since it was Sunday, the beach was in full activity.. tons of pple, looks a bit like sentosa beach but with much more pple.. :P The Stanley markets are worth a trip.. lots of variety, things sold there are different from what you find at Mongkok.. more homely.. while Mongkok stuff are more fancy and dressy.

Went to Victoria Peak on Day 3.. We caught the tram up at abt late afternoon, to be able to catch the transient period and view the scenery in day and night... heehee.. ;P Realised that marche was closed for upgrading.. :( Had to settle for dinner at delifrance as the other restaurant with great dining view was exorbitant.. Nevertheless, we managed to catch wonderful views from the gallery.. :)

To the most interesting part of the trip.. Mongkok.. the place is so full of energy in the night.. You can never feel tired when there.. :) Even at 12mn, it really doesn't feel like 12mn.. Must be due to the large amount of light energy that it is emitting !! Anyway, we went there every night.. Yupz, all 3 nights at Mongkok and it looked quite different every night.. ~strange~

On the second nite there, saw a whole street of illegal peddlers packing up and running away cos' one of them spotted the police.. I think.. Like in HK movies... Heehee.. Actually, you just need one joker to start packing and the whole street will follow suit.. :P
